Gold banjo alert! This one will make someone very happy.

1994 Gibson Granada for sale, all original. Serial number 9407-69 (July 1994 ship date, 69th banjo made that year).

Found this one down here in Florida and she has been well played, but not abused. As many pickers and collectors know, the banjos produced at Gibson from 1987 to early 1993 (known as the "Rich Era") were some of the finest made in many decades at Gibson. Many of the banjos made throughout the remainder of the 90s maintained the same excellent quality we have come to appreciate from the Rich Era, and this Granada is no exception.

With the exception of new Gotoh tuners (the originals were just... awful...), this banjo is completely original (with the exception being a bridge and head once I tore it down and set it up from scratch). See photos attached as the rim, tone ring, and flange all bear correct markings. The neck even has stamps in the heel on when it was made, which I had never seen before.

Metal plating is in good condition with expected playing wear. The armrest has some green patina (character points added in my view) and a few of the hooks have thinned gold plating with some nickel showing, as does the armrest. I did NOT clean the banjo when I got it, as the patina and play wear only add to the mojo.

Sound and playability wise, this is a fantastic banjo. It sounds just like an instrument made of curly maple should... bright, good sustain with even better note separation and just the right amount of "sizzle" that makes you want to keep picking. I can provide sound clips upon request. Playability, the action is great and she intonates properly. Plus, the frets still have loads of life left in them but are worn down just enough that everything is seemless/comfortable to play.
