This is an excellent example of the iconic Stelling Golden Cross, featuring:

- Tony Pass 600TS "Lost Timbre" rim - submerged old-growth birch for exceptional tone and clarity
- Purcell Submerged Bridge: Crisp attack, quick decay, and excellent note separation—ideal for bluegrass clarity
- Ebony fretboard with abalone and pearl inlays
- No resonator cross inlay, consistent with post-1985 models
- Original Stelling case and key
The tone is crisp, balanced and powerful, especially up the neck. Whether you're a collector or a player, this banjo delivers the unmistakable Stelling sound with modern refinement
The original owner sent the banjo back to Stelling to have the Tony Pass rim installed in 2008. The serial number is 4361 OW, which confirms the model date (see photo). OW stands for "Old Wood" referring to the wood used on the Tony Pass rim.
