Recording King RK-25 Woody from 2014 in excellent condition. Being a tube and plate construction, it can be easily converted to an openback. This is how I used it in the last years, therefore the resonator is like new. This banjo does not have a tone ring, it has a rim with a wood bed. The rim is a fat rim with a lot of power. No problem to keep up at a jam or a gig, incredible for a banjo without a tone ring. Fretboard is rosewood, no fretwear at all.
Spikes are installed at 7,8,9,10.
High quality construction, not comparable to the later introduced cheap dirty 30s series with the thin rim and sound.
The banjo comes with a JD Balch calfskin hide head.
Leather strap shown is not included.
There is a tiny scratch in the lacquer on the neck near the heel, which is hard to be seen at all. Never bothered me, just mentioning it.
The pictures show the banjo both being converted to openback and fully assembled. I have now reassembled it to bluegrass resonator mode, this is how it will be shipped.
UPDATE Aug 29: As German postal service has suspended shipment to the US due to tariff exemption end, I cannot sell to the US right now.
