For sale is my 1991 Deering John Hartford in good condition. This was made prior to the changes in the model with the pop-off resonator. For the most part, this banjo is actually in very good condition as is the Deering hard case and is a lighter model because of the grenadillo tone ring. Very little fret wear, Five-Star tuners, some evidence of use on the edges of the resonator, very nice tone and volume, and interesting inlays. What you will notice (I posted several pics) is that there is apparently a crack/frack around the back of the neck behind the nut. I have looked at this closely and sent pics to a respected luthier and it appears to be in the depth of the finish; however, it's there and that's the reason for the lower price.
