For your consideration is this 1995 Gibson Earl Scruggs banjo with original hard-shell case. Although this banjo was constructed after the “Greg Rich” era, many of the people who were working for Greg at Gibson during that time were still employed by Gibson.
I purchased this banjo about a year ago on eBay. The lady who was selling this said that this was her husband’s banjo who had passed away. The banjo is mostly un-played and it is as close to mint as you can get without buying it new. After I purchased it, I disassembled and polished the nickel parts so they look great with the exception of a little "haze" in the armrest and flip cover on the tailpiece. I do not think there are any scratches on the banjo, but if there are, I haven’t found them. Just for the purpose of CYA, I’ll say it’s mint minus.
The banjo comes with it’s original Gibson hard-shell case which still has the plastic pin in the lock where it was never broken. There is also the original pamphlet, tuning key and Gibson cloth in the case. The banjo also has Keith tuners, but the original tuning pegs are in the case as well.
If you are a serious buyer, I’ll be glad to take any additional pictures, answer any questions, etc. I’m selling because my wife and I are thinking about downsizing from two houses into one place and I have way too many instruments right now. Good offers will be considered if the banjo does not sell after a couple of weeks.
