McCafferty Dulcimer with carved desert motif: armadillo, cactus. MY family lived in southern Arizona, which is what attracted me to the dulcimer.
I had additional frets added at 1.5 and 8.5. Set up for four strings should you want.
Tuned in traditional DADd tuning (though no 4th string was added). It also has strap buttons. According to the label: body is African ribbon mahogany and the top is redwood with ebony overlay
With the extra frets and string, one can play enharmonic (traditional) and chromatic (blues, jazz and swing).
I bought it in 2020 thinking with Covid, I'd have plenty of time to learn how to play. Strangely enough, I was busier than ever playing recitals and driveway concerts on other instruments.
It has maybe an hour of playing time, so it is just like new. Not a mark on it.
Very unique dulcimer with the moon and stars and desert scenes.
Comes in a hardshell case.
