This is a prewar OPF that came off of a fat boy Gibson banjo. The bead around the flange is intact with no cracks and is sound. As seen in the photos, the flange was cracked in 6 places along the sound holes and struts, making this a good candidate for repair and use on a banjo if someone wants to preserve the original flange.
There is a gentleman out west that does specialty pot metal repair that could fix this up to be "road worthy" again. I did test this on a 1929 style 3 that I had, and it did function under G# head tension with no issues so, it could be used and played as is.
Thanks for looking.
