SN: 0987. Excellent Highly figured Maple. This banjo has been a showpiece and has not been played enough to have any fretwear.
Double-cut peghead with large abalone JPrucha logo, "Flying Eagle" inlays, and abalone truss rod cover.
Radiused Gabon ebony fingerboard with very colorful Abalone "Flying Eagle" inlays. Neck and resonator are handsome, with brown-amber sunburst on both, and beautiful tiger-stripe figure in both.
Gold H&K main tuners with gold Schaller 5th, all with matching Ivoroid buttons. Ivoroid bindings along fingerboard and sidewall of resonator, with colorful marquetry strip purfling seen below bindings. Top and back edge of resonator show multiple black lines.
Hardware is all gold with Style 6 engraving mostly, but armrest is more elaborate. Railroad spikes at A, Bb, B and C. Prucha Ptacek pre-war style flathead tonering mounted on Prucha's excellent 3-ply maple rim.
This banjo sounds great - lots of power and projection with beautiful tone. Comes with good hard case.
