Exceptional 1981 Stelling with the original block rim (before Geoff switched over to Coopermans for 2 decades). This banjo has it - the sound, the playability and that certain magic - that we all look for in special banjos. One of the 2-3 best sounding Stellings I've owned (out of 30+), this Sunflower is in great condition. Recently professionally refretted, there is no wear of any kind on the fingerboard. The only marks on the banjo are a couple impressions on the neck (one pictured), a worn spot on near the treble heel where a strap hung for many years (also pictured) and the typical light scratching on the resonator (only visible 'on a tilt'). The original hardshell case is quite worn/repaired with tape so I've got it in a nicer one of similar vintage (pictured here). Happy to ship the banjo in the buyer's preference of these cases.
