SALE PENDING....Pre-1938 Gibson RB-00 original five string banjo. This is a great sounding example of an unmodified RB-00. It has the normal thin rim. Condition is good. Normal wear on the back of the neck. To the best of my knowledge, it is all original except for the nut and the fifth string tuner. The slide-on cover is missing from the original Grover window tailpiece, and the tailpiece itself is bending upward as they typically do, but it is the original tailpiece.
A long time previous owner put his name in embossing tape on the front of the peghead. This is very popular these days, so maybe you can add your name in RED tape below his! ;-) There is probably a way to safely remove it, but I never looked into it myself.
This banjo has had a fingerboard planing and refret by Robin Smith several years back. It sounds good and plays good. See photos for more details and feel free to ask any questions.
