This is a very interesting banjo with great potential. It is a 1928 Gibson TB-3 Mastertone that was sent to Richelieu years ago. 40 hole archtop, tube & plate flange. The tenor neck must bave been broken at the headstock volute and was repaired by adding a bit more surface area of wood, I am assuming by "Richelieu also. Neck and resonator were refinished and all of the metal parts are original and have been "Gold- plated" by them. Including the Presto tailpiece and tuners. It is a sharp looking banjo that would make an awesome 5-string. A poor man's Granada. Gold plating is quite expensive these days. I have not yet tried a five string neck on it, but as a tenor, it is one of the most powerful sounding old Gibson's that I have heard. I have every reason to believe it will be an amazing sounding 5-string. I will offer it up for a period of time to see if there is any interest ,before I round up a neck myself to covert it. Comes with an old hardshell case. Price is $3495.00 plus shipping. Thanks for looking, Mike in Minnesota
