According to the Gibson ledgers, this TB-75 F.O.N. 5638-3 Original flat head shipped from the factory Aug 30, 1944. This is absolutely one of the cleanest 75's in existence. The metal with its nickel plating and wood with finish are in stunning condition for being almost 80 years old. The original tenor neck and case are with the banjo. The tenor neck has a Style 6 "checkerboard" peghead with a Nick Lucas fretboard and stained in the 75 color. While not the catalog specs for a tenor neck this was not an uncommon occurrence with the "floor sweep" years of 1941-1944 during WW2. The Gibson decal is not present which is also not uncommon for these early 40's Gibsons. The Factory Order Number (F.O.N.) is chalked inside the resonator by the neck notch. The mahogany neck is by Frank Neat. These are always special banjos but ones like this are exceedingly rare in any Style. If you have any questions or desire additional pictures, don't hesitate to ask. As always, thanks for looking!
