This banjo is in "like new" condition. I purchased it new from Patrick at the Mt. Airy Fiddler's Convention this past June, 2024. All I can say is that buying a half fretless banjo was a mistake on my part.
The "Possum" model has a persimmon tone ring lending a darker, plunkier sound.
This banjo has been played less than 10 hours. I love the sound but an never going to be a fretless player.
A beautiful instrument with several bonus features:
. Pisgah star in headstock
(+$49)
. Vintage heel (+$79)
. Antiqued brass
hardware (+$75)
. Ball-style shoes (+$50)
. Side-grooved tension
hoop (hooks attach
under the rim) (+??)
Cherry neck & 12" Pot
Short scale (25.5")
Persimmon fret board,
headstock overlay, heel
cap and tone ring
Walnut Rim Cap
Pisgah Access Bag (+$140)
The new build price on this banjo with all the extras, based on the "build your own" calculator on the Pisgah Web site, is over $2100, and that is without the side grooved tension hoop which is not offered as an option.
