This guitar is a mini-archtop, with the body shape taken from a Gibson L-0 plan. The lower bout width is 14". The rest of the design is similar to the 17" archtop guitars I learned to build from Robert Benedetto's excellent book. The back, sides, and neck are all cherry, and the back is one piece. The soundboard is western red cedar from Alaska Tonewoods with an interesting color variation in it. I was looking around for what to use for the trim and found a piece of ebony I had bought several years ago on eBay that was about half black and half light. The fretboard, peghead overlay, heel cap, tailpiece and truss rod cover are all made from this board, and the bridge is made from another piece of ebony. The endpin is rosewood. The scale length is 25" and the Corian nut width is 1-13/16". The fretboard has a 12" radius. The finish is Tru Oil. To see a short video please follow the link below:
