Hatfield 5 string banjo (2024) - $2,200 (Pickens, SC)
Hatfield Flying Eagle flathead.
Mahogany with Hatfield flathead ring, Cox maple rim and Cox resonator.
One very, very minor finish issue on this banjo is right above the bottom resonator binding to the left of the heel. I believe in full disclosure. It came from Arthur like this. Not a problem. Hardly noticible.
The finish is a "gunsmith handrubbed oil finish".....not lacquer. Very warm, aged and mellow look and feel! Awesome player with the Sosebee 5/8" hard maple bridge.
Arthur said its the only banjo he has ever made with Hatfield on the peghead and mastertone up the neck.
Standard Goto tuners on 5th, 4th and 1st string. Keith D-tuners on 2nd and 3rd. Spikes at 7, 8 and 9.
Beautiful, hard shell "Guardian" case.
