For sale is banjo #170, an all-walnut mountain banjo. Unfortunately, I’ve lost contact with the customer that commissioned it, so am offering it for sale here.
Specs:
• Walnut neck and body (9” diameter x 1 7/8” tall)
• 25 1/2” fretless scale
• 1/16” brass plate up to fifth fret
• copper wire side dots denoting frets 1,3,5,7,10, and 12
• Figure-8 peghead
• 1/8” single ply walnut head ring
• goatskin head (6” diameter)
• 3” round sound hole
• Grover Champion pegs
• 5/8” walnut bridge with 1-degree neck angle, per usual
• walnut tailpiece/string tie-bar
• ebony nut and pip
• 1 3/8” nut width
• strung with med. tension Classic Nylguts
