The banjo was constructed from mostly new and some vintage parts aka Frankenstein banjo. The maple and walnut neck with planetary tuners is new and crafted by me. The rim and mastertone flat head tone ring are from Stewart MacDonald and about 1970's vintage. Rim is made of Beech and the tone ring is nickel plated bronze or brass. The tone ring is heavy and weighs 3.5 lbs. The resonator is maple. The notched tension hoop is new as is the top frosted head. Some vintage hooks and nuts. Bridge is a 3/4" Snuffy Smith. New medium gauge strings. Armrest is new. The tailpiece is a presto style and used. String action is 3mm above the 12th fret. No string buzzes and the banjo notes true up and down the neck. The banjo weighs in at just under 11lbs.
