On consignment...SOLD

This is an old Gibson openback pot assembly from the snakehead/trapdoor era (pre-1925).

The rim is 11 inches in diameter and full thickness (.80"), and has double binding on the bottom.

These came with a coordinator rod and a dowel. This pot has neither at the moment. I probably have a ball bearing era (25-26) co-rod that will work should you need it.

The tension hoop has 28 notches and is slightly thinner than the later Mastertone notched hoops.

The hooks all look to be original parts, but some of the nuts are not.

The tube also looks to be an original Gibson part.

There's a large diameter brass tone hoop on top. I haven't taken it apart to measure, but it looks to be approx. 5/16" in diameter.

The inside of the rim has some issues at the neck end as you can see in the pics. It could be repaired or used as-is. The crack was caused by not drilling a pilot hole in the wood prior to inserting a screw.

If you have any questions or need any more info, feel free to contact me.
