GOLD Criswell Classic Mahogany in excellent condition. Richard Criswell, out Monticello Kentucky made these banjos with an exceptionally nice neck, Prucha hardware, and Sloan tone rings. It sounds incredible and Sloan rings speak for themselves, gorgeous mahogany neck and resonator to finish it off, great banjo for a great price!
This is one of a small number of handcrafted banjos (estimated 60 all told) by Richard Criswell (deceased) in Monticello, KY. It is also one of the very few GOLD PLATED mahogany versions he created (reportedly only 2 or 3 ever produced). It is in excellent condition, with very slight wear on the gold plating, which is expected for such a well loved instrument. He used Prucha metal parts & Gotoh Tuners. The neck was finished by Richard himself and features the classic Scruggs inlay. It has great action and a strong bluegrass sound (CANON!). Great play-ability, sound and feel (hefty.
