Absolutely amazing conversion of pristine 1920s non trapdoor Gibson TB-3. This banjo has the perforated tube tonering that anticipated the Ball Bearing design on a 10.5" head tube pot (also anticipating the two piece flange design to come). These are lovely sounding banjos - especially for those of us who like the clarity and pop of Gibson-esque tonering banjos but some versatility with fingerstyle or downstroke playing - all in a light openback package. This banjo sounds fantastic for both - largely due to the as-new conversion neck by Eric Sullivan - which is perfectly fitted to the pot. The Sullivan marked neck is gorgeously finished and flamed maple with a 26.25" scale, featuring premium Waverly guitar tuners with grained ivoroid buttons and a Schaller 5th with matching grained ivoroid button. This banjo has original pot hardware but modern co-rods (2), a Kershner tailpiece/bracket and a Balch stained goatskin head. Comes in a brand new Superior hardshell.
