I found no reason to question the sellers origin story on this trendy 1970-ish 5-string resonator banjo. He said his parents bought it for him as a totally unsolicited high school graduation gift. He had absolutely no idea why but slide it under his bed and never attempted to play it. Time passsed and his parents passed and he got tired of moving it and left it with a local Luthier to sell.
Hopefully, the photos verify the unplayed condition. I've kept it warm and dry and unviolated for many many years now. It is a good time to have someone else take custody and enjoy this pristine (Maybe quirkey is the word I should have used.) example of the evolution from the gourd to the modern marvels we enjoy today. This space age plastic cannon was apparently Regals plan to useat the failing Gibson banjo empire.
