Here is an incredibly rare Fender USA made Concert Tone 5-string Banjo from the the 1970s. After some research, it appears that only 18 banjos with carved necks and resonators were made including 5-string, tenor and plectrum. There is some speculation that these were in-house offerings to execs and the like, and maybe a handful made it to retail sales. This banjo is in very good condition with the carvings and paint holding up well, the arm rest is tarnished and some of the gold plating is worn off, but overall mild play wear for a banjo this old. The neck is walnut and the resonator and rim are a laminate walnut. A stunning instrument and piece of Fender history. Comes with Mark Leaf deluxe case.
