This 1978 G11FE archtop was purchased in 2018, with one previous owner, and played occasionally since then. I had the banjo upgraded to Gotoh Brass Planetary Tuners and a Snuffy Smith 11/16" bridge; these come with the Banjo as shown, but I will also include the original tuners and bridge. The banjo was set up by Mike Munford, and has the crystal clear, bright, high & lonesome tone for which these archtops are known.
The G-11s were modeled to sound like the prewar Gibsons. The rim construction is multiple layers of coiled, laminated hard rock maple. The GS 40 hole archtop rings are the same shape as the prewar Gibson. The s/n 780183 indicates this is the number 183 of the series built in 1978. Includes original Saga case, a strap and tuner.
