As new Stone Banjo 1880's Barn Series 5 string.
Mahogany neck, 12" white oak pot. 25.5" scale length. Persimmon FRETLESS fretboard with walnut fret guides. Fretboard has an interesting knot (filled and stabilized) in the frailing scoop. John Balch salted skin head. Curly walnut peg head cap. Antique brass hardware. Floating tailpiece.
Strung with Nylgut Minstrel strings, but came originally with the Nylgut red.
Very unique banjo. Block rim made from reclaimed white oak strips from an 1880's era barn. Very plunky in sound, especially since I keep it tuned in a much lower relative G tuning.
Includes Superior padded gig bag, original fiberskyn head and a spare tension hoop appropriate for mylar heads.

I don't want to sell this banjo, but my kid's Irish Dance hobby just got very very expensive, so I'm having to sell some of daddy's lesser used stuff to pay for the kid's increasingly more expensive needs. Ah, parenting.
