Description
This is a strong banjo and for the price will definitely make somebody happy. This was made in Japan in the early 1980's by Sigma which was a brand owned by Martin Guitars.
This has a nice maple shell with a curly maple neck and resonator. The fretboard is rosewood with a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern. There is binding on the neck and resonator as well. The banjo is all original and has gold hardware including a 2 piece flange and mastertone style tone ring. This is a quality banjo that is not all the way to professional quality but is far beyond a beginner banjo. This could be used in professional settings like a live show and will keep up. This has good volume and is a really good player.
This also includes a hardshell case.
Condition
This banjo is in really good shape for a 40 year old banjo. The gold is in good shape and has been cleaned in our shop. The finish is also in great shape and has been waxed and has a nice shine. The frets and fretboard are basically in perfect condition and there are no spikes or 5th string capo, and there has never been either. The case is clean inside and out.
Set Up
This has been set up with a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a new Dotson and this has new Huber strings. This banjo is going to thrill somebody and is set up and ready to go.
