2008

Posted by Ryan Cavanaugh on Tuesday, December 25, 2007

2007 proved to be a pretty good year. Lot of music was played and a lot of life lessons were learned. I recorded an album with saxophonist Bill Evans, Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, Victor Wooten, Dennis Chambers, and the rest of Bill's Soulgrass band. Jazz guitarist and former Mark O'Conner sideman Frank Vignola invited me to play the famous Blue Note in NYC. I got to hang out with my good friend John McLaughlin and attend a sold out concert. Lots of great thing happend, including a fantastic Fall tour of Europe with Bill Evans; including 3 night at the Blue Note in Milan. In 2008 Sam Bush and Dave Wekyl will join Soulgrass for some US dates. Check out www.myspace.com/banjoryan. Also my new album "Song For the New Frontier" will be realeased on the internet in February along with Bill Evans's "The Other Side of Something."
