The first half of August has been great! I just finished with an awesome tour of the North west, playing a festival in Kaslo, British Columbia where I hung out with up an coming jazz banjoist Mickey Reeves. After a great week in one of the most scenic parts of the north american continent, we played 2 of the West coast's premier jazz clubs, Jimmy Maks in Portland, and Jazz Alley in Seattle. It was a great week in Seattle with Robben Ford sitting in on guitar and Dennis Chamber (my fav) on drums. Luckily my good friend Bela Fleck was playing the day after, and we got a chance to catch up the day after.
Now that I have 2 months off...I shall start another inception of my fusion ensemble. You will really dig this stuff!
I also wanted to mention that I will be teaching classes at the 2010 Midwest Banjo Camp.
