Finally get it!!! After 9 months of chasing the "elusive G# " Head tapping note, I can now identify it, reproduce it and have just set up my RK and the new Banjo I just finished building. My "epiphany" occurred after watching it done on the Huber set up DVD I recenty bought. Once I could see someone do it and I could hear it, the process became as clear and SIMPLE as a bell to me. In addition, I made a note of the actual nut torques when at G# for future reference on both banjo's and experimented going up and down and was able to quantitate the differences. Not a big deal to some of you, but to me was the only thing I could not measure precisely and it was driving me nuts!! Thanks Steve for making a great set up DVD which is now up for sale, BTW, as I no longer need it.
