The tune 'All the good times' springs rapidly to mind.

Joe, I love to play anything in 3/4 time. Right now I am working on Waltz Across Texas and Kentucky Waltz. Remember to keep a strong emphasis on the first beat of each measure, and play at a tempo that you'd like to dance to. I picked up the tab of Waltz Across Texas at Jay Buckey's site.

A few banjo-centric items for your consideration--Check out new designs written by Mike Gregory:

Ashokan Farewell. Check out Tom Adams' great version. I think the Banjo Newsletter site has an mp3 of it.

Otherwise, if you wanna play in a "driving" or "quick" time, yeah... All the Good Times is the place to learn it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

" Song for Pauline ". It's on the Hangout tabs and it has accompaniment with guitar and fiddle.
I find it easy to play and it's a nice tune.
And besides, my wife is a Pauline!!!!

All The Good Times would be at the top of my list. Kentucky Waltz and I think there's a Virginia Waltz that's appealing as well. Waltz Across Texas sounds like it would be fun - I'll have to work on that one myself. Just getting into waltzes though, I'd stick with All The Good Times - fun to sing and fun to play and all guitar pickers know it in G so it will stand you in good stead at jams.
