I have a 12 inch open back banjo, and need a new gig bag for it. It seems there are many gig bags on the market for 11 inch open back banjos, but not so many for a 12 inch. Does anyone have first hand experience / recommendation with this? This Buckeye banjo pot is 12 inches in diameter. Including the metal brackets, the diameter is 12 3/4 inch. It's 3 inches deep. Length is 36 3/8 inches. I might try the, Stage Three Open Back Banjo Bag, which is for an 11 inch, and see if I can squeeze it in.
Thanks!

An eleven inch open back bag is probably not a good fit; a resonator banjo bag should work fine.

Look around the web. I’ve gotten hard shells for both my old Vegas, one is a large pot. Got on ‘clearance’, a little peeling of the vinyl. Didn’t pay $100 for either.

I’d get a Superior 12 resonator gig bag.

I have an Access Stage One gig bag, such as the ones sold by Balsam Banjo Works, that will accommodate both 11” and 12” open back banjos. The 12” fit is tight, but it works. I also have Superior and Boulder Alpine gig bags made for 12” (and resonator?) instruments that work, but the fits in those instances are a bit sloppy. Wish I could help more. Your Buckeye banjo is, I’m sure, a beauty!
