Hey hanger-outers, this could be a good deal for someone
There's a guitar shop in Wappingers Falls, NY, about 30 minutes south of Poughkeepsie, that has a 2000s era Gibson RB. That's the maple pot and resonator. They're a guitar store and don't do much with banjos, so they're not looking for a ton of money for it.
axeshop.com/axeshop-guitars-basses - keep scrolling for a while and you'll find it.
From what I've read, mostly in these hallowed halls, it's likely just a RB, not the deluxe. It has a tone hoop, not a tone ring.
I'm guessing it hung on someone's wall for 20 years. The metal parts all have a bit of patina, but there's almost no play-wear.
The shop owner says he got it from an estate sale. He was a really easy guy to deal with.
Seems like it could be a good find for someone.

Currently marked down "on sale" for 1,195.
That looks to be a very good buy...

Yeah, it was tempting.
It's got a tone hoop, not a tone ring. And while some might not like that, it makes for a notably lighter instrument, which has its advantages.
BUT... my currency at the moment is an old Guild jazz guitar that I'm looking to trade, and it would have been selling myself pretty short to make that trade. So I stepped away.
They had some cool old guitars, though.
