Someone has this up on Ebay right now. Definitely needs some setup work, at least, but it may have been a reasonably nice instrument in its day. Anyone know the builder? It looks to me kind of like the love child of Vega and Slingerland, with some features from neither.

The rim does look like a Slingerland, as well as the brackets and shoes, but I don't think they made it. The purfling around the bottom edge of the rim resembles a Harmony.
My first instinct is Lyon & Healy but that's just an educated guess.

The listing says 11.5", but the seller doesn't sound like a banjo aficionado and I suspect they measured the tension hoop OD.

I do not believe this is Slingerland because of the tone ring and extended fingerboard. Maybe a Lyon & Healy built Washburn or possibly Wurlitzer?

I tend to agree with the non-Slingerland assessment. There is so much not Slingerland about it.

I’m thinking Rettberg & Lange. I don’t think this is a Chicago banjo
