I've been enjoying Jimmy McCown's playing on Janie Rothfield's recording "iFiddle theyBanjo" and was wondering if anyone was aware of other recordings featuring McCown's banjo playing.

There were a couple of CD's he put out independently but I have no idea where or how you could get them now. Perhaps someone will have a clue.

One of my very favorite people, I miss him. Jimmy made three or four self recorded cds that I know of later in life when he started playing old time fiddle and clawhammer banjo. Prior to that he had recorded with his bluegrass family band The Outdoor Plumbing Co. The clawhammer banjo cd's featuring his 6 string banjo playing include: Banjo The Old Time Way, Jimmy McCown (9 tunes, instructional) and From These Mountains. He is also on some recordings with KY fiddler Paul David Smith recorded at the Festival of American Fiddletunes in Port Townsend in 2004 and 2011. You can also find some videos of Jim on Youtube.
