My Kenny Ingram (#9) has developed a warped flange (the "smile"). I don't think it affects the sound but it's annoying to me. (I have some OCD...) Any of you other owners have this problem? Please let me know, I just want to know if it's a problem with the Recording King flange or is it just my lucky day...

Roy: My talk with Greg Boyd said that the R-K flange had the holes for the brackets too far outside the round part of the flange. He said the fix was the Prucha flange which Prucha made the holes right next to the round part. Also could be that the flange was loose... Or both.
RJ: The parts were ostensibly chosen by Kenny himself. (My father was born in Indiana.)

I mean I do know they were Kenny’s exacting specs, perhaps I did know, years back it was a RK flange and forgot
Used to want one , Greg B had a few used years back but couldn’t spend it
It’s been a long time since one has surfaced for sale

They were/are very good flanges. When I commissioned my custom Hatfield, Arthur offered me a choice between Prucha and RK. I asked what, if any, the difference was. Arthur told me that the internal diameter of the RK flange was a tetch smaller than that of the Prucha, meaning that in turning the rim there would be just that much more wood in contact with the flange, which in his opinion made a stronger fit. I went with his advice.

After thinking it over I do now recall them being used
Another example to myself about not running mouth and to shut up before I have a chance to think
Apologies

C'mon Kenny Ingram folks, please put a post on here. I just wonder if any other Kenny Ingram owners have the same problem as I do, a flange that has warped upward; sometimes know as a "smile". Nothing bad here, I just am looking for info...
Thanks!
