I figured that, since it had NOTHING to do with banjos, I'd ask my FAMILY PETS question on another site.
"Is it OK to have my pets sleep in the same bed as me, on chilly nights?"
ALL the answers were quite positive.
"Go for it, great idea, they're family, too" and stuff like that.

Welcome back. I've found purchasing a new banjo helps distract me from the troubles of life. Perhaps BAS also applies to your situation?
