We shopped around, got the price for our anniversary trip.

In just the time it took to fill out the online form for the airline tickets, the price of the flight went up A HUNDRED and FIFTY BUCKS, each, over the price they showed while we were shopping!

That's the fastest service we've ever gotten from ANY airline.

That happened to my daughter once. She was shopping around, found a good price, saved it so she could continue to look around and when she came back, the cost had gone up. I guess when you're looking for good pricings on airline tickets or hotel rooms, you should grab the first one that looks good!

Try clearing the cookies for that site and trying again. Or try a different browser, or a different computer, say at a library. You may be able to get the original price.

Some places play games like that.

Its normal. Airlines dynamically price based on seats left. Id suggest trying a different day where the seats arent as booked. Think tues thru thurs. There are literally millions shopping for flights at any given time and it only takes 4 seats to sell for that 100 buck increase.

Welcome to modern economics.  Fifty years ago, businesses needed custom and the customer was always right.  Today, the customer is a sucker who needs your product more than the business needs the customer.

My last flight, two years ago from Knoxville to Tampa was a horrible experience. I will never fly again, ever. I will either drive or take a bus, I don't care how long it takes.

But IF I didn't care, and IF Mary wasn't averse to sleeping in the van, and IF there was a ferry from Alaska to Russia, I suppose we COULD drive from Wisconsin to France, and then take a ferry to Ireland.
