I love so many versions of this… I had to create my own little thing on it on account of how much I have loved this little number. I try to make it sound old timey a little bit. The best version I’ve ever heard is a version by Curly Ray Cline.
Curly played it in A and in G… the only resource I had of it in G by him though was on YouTube from a old Austin City Limits tv show (I think it was) recording, but it got took down for some reason years ago… anyway, it was the best version I ever heard on fiddle. If anybody recognizes the particular show I’m talking about and has access to that program please let me know.
And I love Butch Robins' take on it as well… and of course Scruggs’ version!
