Ever since Al Worthen retired in Old Forge NY , I can’t find anyone knowledgeable that sets up a 5 string banjo around Central New York State……. Does anyone know of someone?

Possibly Bernunzio Uptown Music would be able to direct you to a local lutheir?
(585) 473-6140
122 East Avenue Rochester, New York 14604

I live just east of Troy, NY. Steve Kovacik, of Kovacik Guitars, directed me to Jane Leigh Hamel of Westfield, MA. Ph# (413)-387-5126.
She worked on my 1954 Gibson Archtop Mastertone (# 4-884-26).
Good Luck

I live outside Watertown and bought my Sierra from Al just before he retired. I sure do miss him!
But it has pushed me to work up the courage to do it myself.
After all, a banjo is just a collection of parts. I would guess you can do 85% of whatever needs to be done. Pretty much everything except substantial repairs.
Here’s a guy that knows a thing or two about banjo set up, and he’s happy to show you how.
