Wondering if anyone has tried one of Banjo Highway's 5th String tuners, a potential alternative to RR. spikes or a sliding capo??? Am considering buying one but thought I'd first ask my fellow banjo players. Are Banjo Highway tuners any good and is Amazon the only place to buy them? Thanks, J

I have a couple of them. They work very well as long as the action on your banjo isn't too high. I added some thin, adhesive backed felt to the flat area that rests on the fingerboard to prevent any marks it might leave.
They have their own website where you can buy them, but you'll get it faster from Amazon. The price is the same.
