It's one of my favourite tunes too play but I've been unable to find out anything about this tune. Anybody have any info about it, author etc. ? You can hear it being played at 28:10 on this video:

Vesta Johnson played the same tune under the name "Synder Waltz," but I don't have any info past that. I feel like Charlie Walden would probably be the guy to ask.

The Gordon McCann MSU collection- a real treasure trove!
I was on a couple of his recordings in late-1993 playing banjo and fiddle with Gordon and the Conley Bros., in their sister's kitchen in Springfield.
