We have spaces in the Tune of the Week winter presenters’ schedule. Perhaps you’ve wanted to present a tune or are already experienced and willing to do another. The open dates are December 27, January 17 and 24, February 14 and 28, and all of March. Let me know here or via message. Thanks in advance.

What does being a presenter entail?

To prepare a TOTW see if you can find and give a link to a source recording.  Slippery Hill is a great site to hear older and original recordings.  The Library of Congress and Digital Library of Appalachia are two more. Your own CDs are excellent sources.  People you play with or listen to can be a wealth of tunes.

Next, if possible, look for some information about the musician who is considered to be an old or original source.  Add details to your discussion as well as include or even contact contemporary musicians, usually fiddle or banjo players, who often are happy to answer your questions.

To see the tunes covered already, there is a pdf of an alphabetical list at the top of this forum in the topic called TOTW Complete List.  If a tune hasn't been covered for ten years feel free to cover it again. Bottom line, the simplest presentation is welcome and others will join and add to the discussion.
