Hi Banjo Hangout Peeps,
We could choose one tune per month and everybody could send in a video on any kind of banjo??
Has this been done before? Any style welcome. All levels can join the fun.
Yours in Banjoland,
Marcy

Hi Marcy,,,, there was/is a Tune of the Week thread,, not sure if it’s still active,, but your idea sounds fine too.

I would hit it when I could--especially if it is one of my regulars

The playing c/h ot section has a thriving Tune of the Week post regularly every week

It's been tried in various forums, usually genre specific. Sometimes it sticks, sometimes it dies out. So far, I think the clawhammer forum is the only one that's kept it active.
If someone wants to start it and take care of it, I don't think there would be any problem from admin.

The Tune of the Week in the Old Time section is often discussion about a tune, and references to different commercial and field recording, plus some own videos or audios.
I think what Marcy means is more that someone suggest a tune, and people who want publish a video of their own version. Any kind of banjo and any style/genre and any difficulty level. I have seen similar approaches on other forums than BHO and on Facebook. I think it would be a great idea.

Years ago in the four string forum we had a tune of the month: it was very nice because the great Eddy Davis made the choice of the song and the first video! But it was strictly for jazz players
I think here it can be very interesting mixing different musical genres and playing styles
Marcy you can suggest the first tune or song for the next month and let’s see what comes out….
