A while ago I posted looking for advice about removing the resonator on my banjo, thanks a mil to everyone who gave me advice! I finally plucked up the courage this evening and removed it, along with tightening the head (one of the most terrifying musical things I've ever done) which improved the banjo a lot! It was bought second hand and hadn't been played in at least a year if not two so it made a big difference!!
I enjoy fiddling with things but I'm by no means a mechanically skilled person, so the fact i didn't break anything *and* ended up with a good result is very exciting!
Thanks again everyone who helped me out!

The more you do, the more you can do.
Set up and maintenance for an instrument is one of the most important things you can learn if you are taking your playing seriously.
Congrats on a job well done.

One of the best lessons in set-up is to change the head.
