Hey,
Recently was lucky enough to purchase a Robin Smith pot which is missing the bolts/screws that mount the flange to the resonator sidewall lugs. All four lugs are there.
Bought some Golden Gate replacements but theyre the wrong size, and the nut screws are too small for the existing resonator wall holes.
Would anyone know of compatible bolts for a Heartland resonator lugs offhand?
Thanks in advance!!

Think u first have to establish the thread in the lugs .

Jim and Bob.

I learned this the hard way. I know that Golden Gate uses metric threads. The screws are just too tiny anyway.

But Gold Tones are the only ones I use, I have some in stock over here In Phoenix. I think all you have to do is order from Gold Tone.

They come with the cutest little brass barrels that go down into the sidewall of any resonator of worth.

It means you can then drill a flat bottom hole and glue these barrels into the sidewall without using those "L" brackets you bought.

Then the "Hex" nuts just screw into the brass barrels with two different holes for fitting up the resonator!!!

They work better than the Recording King type, the Gibson type , or the First Quality Type, or those that screw anything into a perfectly good Robin Smith pot.

It sounds crazy, but the Gibson and FQ type are both different and REQUIRE that you mount to the banjo rim. The little screws just don't allow a reliable resonator mount because only 3 of them mount perfectly.

I've had these mounted perfectly to ship a brand new banjo to a new customer only to have the 4th hex nut pull loose. Oh Crap. No way

With the Gold Tone type you can mount the little nickel plated steel plates or make your own, including using the type of plates that are sold through STEW MAC.

I hope this is readable. I don't have time for photos, I do at times use magnets mounting new and vintage resonators to keep the vintage more intact, meaning no new holes in a fine older piece.

The hard way includes an unnecessary warranty issue like shipping back to me. So.... many times I now ship the rez by itself. Crazy!!

I can get the Recording King type, but I don't use them, all three types use little adjustable knurled nickel screws.

Gold Tone is the only one using phillips heads to mount the resonator.

I know there are Rae-justers, but Gold Tone no longer sells the ones that allow hi and lo setting, I use them still on my Black Walnut # 001.

Have fun.  Hope this helps. Clarity is my game, not brevity. !!Goal!!, you owe me 50 smiles, oops, 49.

Try ordering represented as US thread or Mastertone standard. The thumbscrews sold by Sullivan should be right.
