I need to hang a heavy bluegrass banjo in a showcase. It can mount to the top or the back of the case. I am worried about the fit and strength of some of the guitar hangers I have seen. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Sideways on this: I have always been worried about hanging my instrument like this from the neck. I see lots of guitars and bass guitars of every body style hung like this by the neck with a pair of arms on each side. My banjo seems nice and robust but I worry so much about it hanging with all that weight on the narrow neck. That’s probably just me being overly cautions.

I have worried about hanging my RK R80 from the neck. I would love to hear what the luthiers say about this. It seems like a lot of stress to put on the heel, so I always case it when done.

I guess you are saying it has to “hang” and there’s no option for support from below. How long would it be hanging? No double entendre intended.

The space is shallow front to back so the banjo has to be vertical, a normal stand won't fit. Different banjos will likely cycle through the showcase over time.

I am hanging all my banjos since 15 years because I like to look at them when not playing. No issues, even a heavy Stelling works fine. Downside, they get dusty over time.
But that‘s just me, others may think different.
