A Saskatchewan boy who channels the old country-bluegrass show biz schtick , a combination of Lawrence Welk and Porter Wagoner..lol..... he’s hilarious, & he can really pick. He and his group performed at Shady Grove Bluegrass Festival last week in Sundre, Alberta to a rousing ovation.

Jake is playing a Huber VRB-G with a Vintage tone ring. The fretboard has hearts and flowers inlays, whereas the peghead has the flying eagle pattern, like Wade Mainer's Granada. It is a great sounding banjo, and Jake learned entirely by ear -- he does not use tablature as far as I know.

Some of his best stuff was when he was teamed up with Ira. He and Ira could switch off between guitar and banjo and make some really good bluegrass. His bass player can pick a pretty good banjo also.
