Many people face challenges uploading images and I wonder if some of this is due to the format. iPhone/iPad default settings seems to save as PNG images.
As of now, if I want to upload a photo, I need to take the photo, send it to my desktop computer, export as jpg, then upload it.
If this site were to allow PNG images then I could just send directly from my phone.

iphone should take HEIC images for photos. But yeah png is pretty standard for screenshots.
I agree that the site should allow most any image format. Can always use imagemagick (free for commercial use, reliable) in the background to auto-convert if necessary.

I always use my iPhone to upload images to this site. I’d I need a picture to upload I use the phone. I’ve never had a problem. I wonder if it’s some default setting on the phone regarding the way the images are saved.

HEIF is a newer version of HEIC, both of which are Apple's "high efficiency" image file format options offered in the iPhone. In Settings > Camera > Formats you choose one of two Camera Capture options: High Efficiency or Most Compatible. The Most Compatible one is probably jpeg or jpg. The High Efficiency option is what I already said. These files are smaller, but apparently not all websites and apps recognize them.
I shoot in HEIC, now HEIF, on my iPhone, so I' always have to export photos to JPG when I want to post them here.
