All. I found this website while looking for old Todd’s Fork Bluegrass Festival info. Back in the 70’s there was a bluegrass festival in Morrow, Ohio named the above. I saw some mentions of it on this site, so thought I would update those who didn’t know. There has been a reincarnation of this festival the last 2 yrs and the next one is July 18-20. Todd’s Fork Revival Festival. See ya there!

That's so cool. Todd's Fork was the first bluegrass festival I ever went to -- in 1974 after I got out of the Navy. They had so many big acts, but they only played 30-minute sets back then. I remember seeing Lester and the Nashville Grass, Raymond Fairchild, Eddie and Martha and the Second Generation, the Lilly Brothers with Don Stover, Mac Wiseman, and I don't know who else. It was one of Lester's first shows after his open-heart surgery and I bought one of his albums. The guy at the table told me Lester would sign it if I'd take it over to his bus. I knocked on the door and asked the guy at the wheel if Lester would sign my record. He called to the back and a minute or so later Lester appeared wearing a bath robe and a pair of slippers. He signed my album and I still have it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

This brings back a few memories. I was in high school, a newbie-but-not-too-bad 5-stringer, when I attended the first two Todd's Fork Festivals in 1972 and 1973. I'm born and raised in Wilmington, about 30 minutes NE of Morrow. Indeed, Todds Fork runs very close to Wilmington, and in theory at least I could have paddled to the Festival.
My strong memory is of the first festival1972 . If I recall correctly, the Saturday concert was devoted to memory of Roy Husky Sr. who had died in 1971. The man himself, Bill Monroe, was there, as were Sonny and Bobby and many of my heroes.
SW Ohio was an amazing time for BG in the early 70s. If you have a chance, find a copy of Industrial Strength Bluegrass, a wonderful book about the BG hotbed that was SW Ohio at that time. I was fortunate to have grown up at the right time at right place to take it all in.

Thank you for that! I will def check out that book. I don’t remember much about the festival in ‘72 because I was 12, but David Smith (organizer) was my neighbor, so I remember it thru him. I have the old flyer from them and see Bill Monroe played. Anywho, 50 yrs later I going to camp all 3 days at this “revival.”
PS-have also considered canoeing down the LM from the beginning of it!
