If it's indeed a Gibson, is in clean condition, and hasn't been messed with very much [not a lot of changed parts], that would be a pretty good price over here.
I suspect it could be called "quite a good price" on your side of the pond.

81 would be the two-piece flange version. $2000 is reasonable price in the US for one in very good condition, so I'd say that's probably great price overseas where they're in shorter supply.
FWIW, someone who was at Gibson in the era of these banjos has written here that by the late 70s (when he arrived) Gibson had returned to a 3-ply flange, from the earlier multi-ply. If that's correct, then this is an even better buy.
