I’ve got two friends who have this model and they feel much heavier than my old Gibsons. Is it because the weight of their metal components? Thanks!

Probably, plus the rim could be thicker or more dense wood. I have a custom-built archtop with a Tony Pass block rim and that is a heavy banjer. Of course my waning strength may contribute to that feeling.
